Conservation and sustainability go hand in hand. Whether we’re working on a historic building or a new building scheme, a sustainable approach is inherent to our ethos. As a result, we are leaders in the field of environmentally responsible design.
We are expert at assessing the context and constraints of a project, and we take time to understand our client’s requirements for the building, its contents and users. Offering the benefit of our expertise, we discuss the client’s aspirations and agree clear objectives from the outset. We also believe that it is crucial to set a reasonable budget for environmental systems that deliver realistic payback.
Project reviews and design dialogues allow our teams to explore possibilities and test concepts, and all of our projects are reviewed for environmental impact at key stages during development and on completion using a pioneering in-house procedure: the Purcell Miller Tritton Index of Sustainability (PIOS).
Our commitment to running an environmentally responsible business is demonstrated by our ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, which provides a framework for independent auditing of our progress towards clear targets. The practice is also a member of the Green Register of Construction Professionals and was ranked as one of the top 60 green companies in the UK by the Sunday Times in their 2010 Green List.
