Having studied architecture at Newcastle University, Tracey spent several years working at an architectural practice in Newcastle upon Tyne. Since joining Purcell Miller Tritton’s Colchester studio in 2002, she has built up a broad portfolio encompassing both new build and conservation projects. She particularly enjoys the challenge of combining these disciplines to incorporate inspiring contemporary design into the historic built environment. Tracey become an Associate of the practice in 2010.
Tracey has worked extensively across the public, educational and ecclesiastical sectors. She has also been involved in development of the practice’s residential sector, working on the Crown Estate in London as well as private homes and housing schemes. With an interest in socially responsible design, she enjoys finding solutions that maintain quality within her clients’ budgetary requirements.
She is also enthusiastic about developments in sustainable technology and construction techniques, and she believes that an appropriate sustainable approach should be embodied in the design. In her role as the Sustainability Group Coordinator, Tracey is responsible for helping to develop the practice’s sustainability strategy, keeping abreast of technical advancements and promoting innovation.
Her technical aptitude is matched by the conceptual vision to develop considered design solutions, and she enjoys balancing these perspectives in her work. With a hands-on approach, she gets great satisfaction from seeing a project through from concept to completion, building strong working relationships with clients, co-consultants and contractors.
