A strong practical outlook and a love of drawing encouraged Peter to go into the architectural profession straight from school to learn ‘on the job’. Over the past 40 years, he has acquired an impressive portfolio, working mainly in the field of conservation and on alterations to historic buildings.
Over the past decade, he has helped to conserve and upgrade the interiors of some of the country’s finest art galleries, including the National Gallery in London where the practice has undertaken a range of repair and refurbishment schemes over a twelve-year period. Peter’s experience, enthusiasm and his hands-on approach have been invaluable throughout.
Together with his specialist expertise, Peter also has extensive experience of working on new building projects in the residential and commercial sectors and, whilst he is keen to maintain his involvement with historic buildings, he gets great satisfaction from contemporary design.
His residential work ranges from bespoke homes for private clients to large-scale housing developments. Recently, he has played a key role in the design and delivery of a £2m swimming pool extension to a Grade II listed moated house in Suffolk.
‘It is vital to get the detail right every time. That is the goal that motivates me throughout every project.’
