Martin literally grew up with architecture, his father’s profession, and has always been fascinated by drawing and built forms. He joined the practice in 1990 at the age of 16 as a junior and studied for his professional qualifications part time over a number of years.

Learning on the job has enabled him to acquire a wide range of experience of design, drawing and contract administration on large projects for the National Trust and other major clients in the conservation field, as well as several private residential clients.

Having moved to London to further his studies, Martin spent some time at another architectural practice to broaden his experience of residential, educational and sports related projects. He returned to Purcell Miller Tritton’s London office in 2007 and has since worked on significant residential projects in Dublin and London.

By questioning each brief in great detail and working closely with clients, he ensures that their needs are fully understood – his aim always being to exceed their expectations within the available budget. Martin is particularly keen to continue to develop his experience of the residential sector and to promote his concern to achieve sustainability in design and construction.

‘I see myself as an architect who has amassed a great deal of experience of working in the historic environment and, together with experience gained in other sectors, can apply his skills to a wide range of projects.’
