Having joined the Norwich office in 1997, Gary was one of the founding members of the practice’s Liverpool studio. His interest in conserving historic buildings led him to study for a distance-learning MSc in Conservation, winning an award as the top student of his year.
He has gained wide experience of conserving and repairing existing buildings and of the challenges involved with incorporating new structures into the framework of historic buildings and landscapes. Gary has a particular expertise in technical drawing using AutoCAD software and is a key member of the practice’s CAD User Group. Beyond these technical specialisms, he has moved on to run large-scale architectural projects of his own and relishes the challenge of managing diverse teams.
Gary has recently been made an Associate of the practice and is excited by the prospect of extending his experience beyond his core area of conservation. Alongside his passion for the historic environment lies a strong interest in designing and building anew.
‘Liverpool and the Northern Counties offer a fascinating variety of projects for the practice. I have put down my roots here now and am really enjoying the chance to do high quality work which our clients appreciate.’
