Liz started working with the practice on a part-time basis while she was studying for her Part II Diploma. In 2003, she joined the London studio as a full-time member of staff. Working closely with her mentors, she quickly developed a good knowledge of historic buildings and was given the opportunity to run a variety of projects herself. She recently acted as principal assistant for a large and complex restoration at Shaw House, a 16th-century Grade I listed building in Newbury.
'The experience I gained through running this project on site was fantastic. It was challenging but extremely rewarding too as I saw my designs come to life and learnt firsthand what being an architect is really all about.'
Liz sits on the practice's Conservation & Technical Panel, a group which draws its membership from each of the practice's studios and keeps the rest of the technical staff up-to-date with developments and changes within the industry. She is also responsible for editing and publishing the Panel’s regular newsletter.
'At Purcell Miller Tritton I have really benefited from the opportunity to get involved not just in project work but in lots of other aspects of running an architectural practice.'
Liz qualified as an Architect in 2009.
